A hundred or so passengers on Montego Air Flight 828 are horrified to learn they've been thought dead for five years when they land in the new NBC drama Manifest. Whoa. This appears to be the type of puzzle that would take more than a season to solve. You might appreciate Noah Hawley's novel BEFORE THE FALL in between episodes. Though the plane accident conspiracy in BEFORE THE FALL isn't quite as weird, both mysteries leave us wondering: Why did this happen to these people in particular?

Is Manifest series based on a book?
No, Manifest is not based on a genuine tale or a book. While the series is likely to be inspired by books and true stories, it is not based on any specific source material. Jeff Rake, the show's creator, is behind it.
While the show isn't based on a book, in season 2, the characters were in quest of a book that helped to flesh out the larger mystery surrounding the plane's disappearance and death date. We won't go into any spoilers for those who haven't seen the show yet.
There are no Manifest novels based on the stories in the series, either. Riverdale, Stranger Things, Outer Banks (yes, an OBX book is coming!) and many other popular programs have novelizations to expand the universe of the show and characters.
Manifest has been likened to shows like Lost and The 4400, despite the fact that it is not based on a novel and there are presently no books based on the series. Still, it's in a class of its own, and we're crossing our fingers that it'll be preserved soon.
What is Manifest based on?
Although Jeff Rake said that the series was inspired by the loss of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, he claimed that the occurrence was a spark that made the movie viable because no one had considered making it before the incident. Read on as I reveal more about the show ‘Manifest' and if it is based on the mystery surrounding the loss of the MH370, since I am a major fan of the show and have the same questions as you.
Is there a real flight 828?
Montego Air's Flight 828 flew from Montego Bay, Jamaica to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. The plane took off on April 7, 2013, with a total of 191 passengers and crew on board. On November 4, 2018, the airplane encountered turbulence while in the air and landed over New York. The jet was redirected to Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, New York, where government officials informed the passengers that they had been gone for five and a half years and were assumed dead.
Ben Stone has reoccurring visions of the jet exploding when a piece of flight 828 is discovered off the coast of Cuba. Ben arrives at the conclusion that the plane exploded and that the passengers died before being resurrected for an unexplained cause. After images from Guantanamo Bay are leaked, the tale is later leaked on the news. Ben is sure that they all died in a plane crash and were resurrected, and that it has now been scientifically verified, when the Eureka project discovers that Kelly Taylor's body shows evidence of having died in an aircraft crash rather than being shot to death.
“The angel number 828 teaches you the value of trusting and believing in yourself and your talents in order to accomplish and achieve all of your objectives. It also represents your trust in the Universe's and your guardian angels' Divine direction in fulfilling your life purpose and soul destiny.”
Did Manifest get Cancelled?
The popular TV show “Manifest” will return for its fourth and final season, according to Netflix. NBC canceled “Manifest” in May, despite it consistently ranking in the top 10 on Netflix's rerun service (and rating well in USA TODAY's “Save our Shows” poll).
Is Malaysia Flight 370 manifest based?
Malaysia Airlines' operations center advised Kuala Lumpur ACC at 03:30 that the locations it had earlier provided were “based on flight projection and not reliable for aircraft placement.” Kuala Lumpur ACC phoned Ho Chi Minh ACC throughout the next hour, wondering if they had signaled Chinese air traffic control. The Singapore ACC was contacted at 05:09 for information on Flight 370. At 05:20 a.m., an unnamed official contacted the Kuala Lumpur ACC, demanding information regarding Flight 370, claiming that “MH370 never left Malaysian airspace” based on available evidence.
At 05:30, the Kuala Lumpur Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (ARCC) was activated by the Kuala Lumpur ACC's watch supervisor, more than four hours after communication with Flight 370 was lost. When an aircraft is lost, the ARCC is a command post at an Area Control Centre that coordinates search-and-rescue operations.
What really happened to the plane on manifest?
He indicated to TV Insider that the plane may have gone to a divine world when speaking about the strange occurrence. “, he explained “Captain Daly is dealing with the divine now that we've moved into a domain where we're talking about our passengers interacting with the divine. Where has Captain Daly been since he mysteriously vanished from story time a year and a half ago? Whether it's purgatory or the netherworld, terms and notions like these will be difficult for Ben and others to grasp.”
Rake went on, “Captain Daly has been where the divine has taken you away, but leaving you in a holding patternwhich is probably an apt flight analogywhile your final fate is chosen…
When we return in Season 4, I'll let Cal speak about what that place is.”
Cal vanished after touching the plane's tail fin at Eureka in the finale, then reappeared as an adult after the fin was put back into the ocean (unbeknownst to Ben). The entire plane (including the tail fin) then vanished at the final end. Given the pandemonium that has already ensued as a result of the passengers' callings (a term coined by Ben and Michaela to describe the voices in their thoughts), it appears like Ben and the gang will be ramping up their efforts to study this unknown place that no one seems to be aware of.
“They'll be studying over the Bible, the Noah's Ark story, and other biblical myths to attempt to grasp exactly how to get into this area, wherever it is, how one goes in and out, and that'll be part and parcel of how they try to save themselves,” Rake added.
Season four appears to be shaping up to be a wild adventure for the 828ers, and we're definitely on board.
What is the death date on manifest?
The Death Date is the date on which a revived person meets their second death, which occurs after the exact amount of time has passed since their first death.
Does Manifest have a plot twist?
Cal has developed “callings,” which are comparable to premonitions, since the mysterious disappearance of Flight 828 and its passengers. Cal's decision to access the secret government-controlled Eureka project and touch the tail fin was prompted by a phone call. After his parents, Grace and Ben Stone (Athena Karkanis and Josh Dallas), told him he should just go home, he embarked on this adventure.
Grace is stabbed by the overly pious Angelina Meyer (Holly Taylor), who then flees with baby Eden, in a devastating event that closed off the second half of Season 3's finale. Grace is spending her final breaths on the floor of her bedroom when a blurry Cal appears out of nowhere and comes into clarity. He's obviously lot older than he was in Part 1, much to the amazement of the audience. u/hangon sufferwell asked on a Reddit topic dedicated to this twist, “Why aren't we discussing this? What makes you think he's older? Is he the age he would have been if 828 hadn't occurred?” Meanwhile, u/Kayninez made the following comment: “What happened to Cal has piqued my interest. I'm assuming he's the same age as Olive, 5.5 years plus the time he's been back. Does this also imply that he no longer has a death date….?”
Is there a season 4 for Manifest?
It's official: Netflix's Manifest will return for a fourth season. After weeks of back-and-forth between Netflix and Warner Bros. TV, the announcement was made on August 28, 2021, at 8.28 a.m. on August 28a homage to the important Flight 828 in the series, which returns with its passengers five years after taking off from Jamaica. Almost the whole cast, including Josh Dallas and Melissa Roxburgh, will be back for the final season of the show. The renewal of Manifest was a surprising U.S. turnaround for Netflix, which had first declined to continue the series, as did the show's producer NBCbut both were compelled to rethink after Manifest's addition to its platform smashed streaming records in the United States.
Did they take Manifest off Netflix?
Manifest will return to Netflix for a final season, but that wasn't always the idea. After initially passing on the NBC missing plane thriller in June, the streamer picked it up for a fourth and final season on August 28. Showrunner Jeff Rakes attributed Netflix's change of heart to Manifest's slow-burn popularity on the platform in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“Unlike other Netflix shows, which release eight or ten episodes at a time, we released all 29 episodes at the same time. “So my guess is that it took a long for the audience to get into all of those episodes,” Rakes added. “It's probable that binge-watching the entire series takes longer than it would for an average show.”
After Seasons 1 and 2 were released on Netflix, the series topped the Nielsen weekly streaming ratings for four weeks in a row, thanks to a #SaveManifest fan effort. In August, Season 3 was introduced to the site, and Manifest set a new record with a six-week streak of over 1 billion minutes watched (per Deadline).
“The world was certainly taking note after 28 days at No. 1,” Rakes remarked, saying that Manifest had surpassed the infamously popular Netflix docuseries Tiger King in terms of long-term popularity. “Sometimes the unusual happy ending appears right away, but more often than not, we must wait for a positive outcome, as was the case here, and I couldn't be happier.”
Is manifesting a sin?
If you're trying to materialize something great, like a new home, a romance, or a new job, manifesting isn't a sin.
If you strive to generate something negative that will harm someone else, however, you are committing a sin.
Even if you aren't religious, you should never strive to generate something negative since it will “bite” you in the end.
You will always get back what you put into the world, so if you want to be a better person and have more positive things in your life, don't try to create anything negative.
