I would not have left my office if I had discovered this site while pregnant, and I would have been bottling my urine like Howard Hughes. It has it all: names ranked by popularity, origin, distinctiveness, celebrity, and so on.
Each name is broken down into several categories, including historical origin, popularity, famous persons and/or their children, and historical personalities, to name a few. The cultural reference section, on the other hand, is perhaps one of my favorites. It includes a list of all literary characters, songs, and children's books with the name. Even if you've already decided on a name for your child, it's a great place to look for gift ideas.

This service is unique in that it allows you to search for bilingual names based on any two languages you want to combine. It offers some amusing alternatives with Klingon and Dothraki, in addition to the typical worldly dialects, which, honestly, works occasionally! If blending your DNA wasn't enough, it also offers a feature that allows you to merge two names.
The basic option is free, but if seeing those fuzzed out boxes drives you insane, you can pay $10 to upgrade.
