Is there a real soulmate?
There's been a lot of discussion on whether each individual just has one soulmate, if they have a lot of soulmates, or if soulmates are just a ridiculous and frivolous concept. There is some dubious scientific proof that soulmates exist if you search for it, but before we walk down that rabbit hole, I think it's important to define and denote the type of soulmate I'm referring to.
A soulmate is defined as “a person who is ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner,” according to New Oxford American. Soulmates clearly exist in this sense; there are certain persons who are more ideally fitted together than others. A soulmate, on the other hand, has a deeper, more profound connotation in the metaphysical sense of the term. This form of soulmate is based on a higher spiritual realm and has only ever been associated with one individual in the past. To put it another way, each individual only has one soulmate, and if you blow it with them, that's it.
That doesn't hold water with me. I do, however, believe in soulmates in the dictionary sense, meaning that some individuals are actually meant for each other, regardless of how hard they try, how nice they appear on paper, or how much they love each other. But don't take it from me. What science has to say about soulmates is as follows.
What happens when you find your soulmate?
“As a result, when we find our soulmate, we are most likely at the attachment stage,” Dr. Rojas explained, “which offers an overall feeling of tranquility, security, comfort, and want to protect one another.” It's no surprise that soulmates feel so happy in one other's company, even as time passes.
What will happens if two soulmates meet?
Oxytocin is a hormone produced by the brain that, among other things, aids in social bonding. When you meet your soulmate, a person who makes you immensely happy, the chemical is actively released. As a result, when you meet your soulmate, you have discovered someone who balances you, makes you happy, understands you, and wants you as much as you want them. They also have an impact on your interpersonal relationships, both directly and indirectly. You become more gregarious, approachable, and able to connect with others. Your link with those closest to you grows stronger, and it gets simpler to communicate with others in general.
Can soulmate be a friend?
Yes, platonic soul mates exist. A platonic soul mate relationship is a friendship that can go almost as deep as any other. These connections, according to Nuez, will not feel like other “regular” friendships since you will be friends “at a soul level” and will most likely have a profound and instant identification upon meeting.
Also, don't undervalue the strength of these ties. Our platonic soul mates, according to Richardson, might be just as vital in our lives as our romantic soul mates. “If you consider terrestrial life to be a brief journey for the soul, as some spiritual people do, you'll want to travel with engaging, supporting companionsjust as any character in an epic story or legend does,” she says.
It's also feasible (and perhaps likely) that you'll have multiple platonic soul mates during the course of your life, possibly even multiple at the same time. “You can find new soul mates at any time in your life. It doesn't have to be a childhood friend; it may be someone you meet at work or someone you meet in your 50s “Nuez explains.
Some soul mates come and go, while others stick around for the long haul, according to Richardson. These connections, regardless of their length, are an important element of the journey. She explains, “Just as the human body need food and drink, the soul requires companion soul mates.”
Where do soulmates meet?
If you're anything like me, you'll look like a clammy, wet trainwreck after every workout. The gym isn't the place to flaunt your gorgeous side, but you don't have to look like a swan all of the time if you're serious about someone. If there's a regular at the gym you'd want to meet, go up to him or her when you're ready. Not to go all schoolgirl on you, but if approaching strangers makes you anxious, bring a friend with you. You're not the only one who feels this way.
Can you have 2 soulmates?
You can have multiple soulmates. “You will meet numerous soulmates in this lifetime,” Brown predicts. “You only have one twin flame,” says the narrator. According to the belief, if you meet someone with whom you have a strong connection, there's a good chance they're a member of your larger soul family.
Do soulmates break up?
Breaking up with a soulmate isn't the end of the world, even if it may feel that way at the time. “Most individuals learn the most valuable lessons in life through terrible situations, and breaking up with a soulmate is no exception,” Connie Omari, LPC, author and psychotherapist, tells Bustle.
Are Twin Flames real?
Barbara Spinelli, LP, a therapist, relationship specialist, and CEO of Babita Spinelli Group and Opening the Doors Psychotherapy, explains, “Twin flames are two half or mirrors of two different individuals.”
She notes that these people have comparable talents and shortcomings and feel emotionally linked over something they have in common generally shared grief.
A twin flame, according to Lisa Vallejos, PhD, LPC, a relationship therapist, is two persons who have a deep soul connection.
“They appear to be mirror images of one another, with similar life routes, histories, and occasionally pain,” she says.
Elizabeth Clare Prophet, a leader of the Summit Lighthouse and the New Age cult known as The Church Universal and Triumphant, is credited by Vallejos with coining the term “twin flame.” Prophet is best known for warning her followers in the late 1980s to prepare for nuclear Armageddon.
According to Vallejos, Prophet created the term “dual flame” in the 1970s. Prophet's book “Soul Mates and Twin Flames: The Spiritual Dimension of Love and Relationships” was published in 1999.
Plato claimed in his philosophical treatise “Symposium” in the fifth century B.C. that the Greek god Zeus disempowered humans by splitting us into two halves, male and female.
While some researchers believe Plato's writings describe soulmates, Vallejos argues that “a lot of us utilize this as basis for twin flames.”
Twin flames are two parts of the same soul, according to legend. As a result, they operate as mirrors for one another, providing opportunities for reflection and growth.
