Williams and the group played across the United States for decades before gaining national popularity in the 1990s and 2000s with classics including “Good Time,” “I've Learned to Lean,” “Love Will Go All The Way,” “I Can't Give Up,” and others.

Who was Lee Williams?
Annie Williams, Williams's wife, survives him. Earlier this month, the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Williams retired in 2018 after a long career as a performer. For his work and accomplishments in not just benefiting the city through music, but also as a proud native son, he was given a key to the city of Tupelo.
Williams, dubbed the “Godfather” of quartet music, joined the QC's in 1968 and they recorded their first piece of music together in 1970. Since 1996, they've made 13 albums together, the most recent of which, Memphis Gospel, Live!, was published in 2015.
